Attractions

Ål has a wide spectre of attractions and sights throughout themunicipality. Wonderful cultural treasures like Torpo Stave Church, which is the last original stave church in Hallingdal and the Rolf Nesch-museum which holds the largest permanent exhibition of his work. There are also several cultural heritages, museums and galleries well worth a visit.

Ål Culture Centre is found in the centre of Ål, and this houses the Nesch Museum, Hallingrosa which proudly presents the art of Hallingdals famous rose painters and Gallery Syningen with its changing exhibitions.

Ål Church is open all weekdays and a trip here is recommended. You can see the altarpiece and preachers' chair which was saved from the old stave church and a copy of the famous painting on the Ål church ceiling.
