This area has an extensive network of cross-country ski tracks that pass through holiday villages set in birch forests before they climb up into the mountains. Liatoppen is the place to look for prepared tracks early in the season. It is also a popular area for special ski events. There are tracks through the valley of Votndalen towards Bergsjø and Torpo-Opheimsåsen.
There are 70 km of tracks with routes to Bergsjø and Torpo-Oppheimsåsen, which form a part of the northern Hallingdal route from Myrdal to Golsfjellet.
Liatoppen ski centre is an impressive biathlon- and cross-country skiing arena meeting international standards. There is also a floodlit track for those who like an evening ski trip. The centre hosts several cross-country and biathlon races during the winter season.
The kiosk at Tormodset i open during winter holiday from 18th Feb to 4th March 11.30 - 14.30.
And in Easter opening hours are 11.30 - 15.30.
It is toll road on the mountain roads to Votndalsåsen and Liagardane. For more information on prices, see the individual toll road. There is often a parking fee for parking spots during the winter season.
